It seems that we hear the saying ‘the new norm’ on a daily basis at the moment, whether it be with our visit to the shops, meeting with family and friends, or even picking up a cup of our beloved coffee.

We have seen several innovations over the past few months, accelerating projects that we probably would not have seen for at least another 12-18 months, if at all. So, even if things are feeling a little scary and uneasy at the moment, there are a lot of positives that we will be able to take away from this strange world that we currently find ourselves living in.

We saw contactless payments overtake cash payments a few years ago now, and with the current landscape and environment, we can only see this grow even further during 2020, with many stores only allowing card payments.

There are so many benefits of installing a contactless device on your coffee or vending machine. It not only delivers what people have come to expect but also offers businesses a plethora of sales data at their fingertips. This data will help a business to make informed decisions, understand their customer base, and plan future campaigns.

Video troubleshooting

With the advancement of video technology and accessibility on a wide range of devices, service teams across the country will be able to support customers with their initial machine troubleshooting via video call.

This will not only save the customer with having to bring someone new on-site (where social distancing could be difficult), but also speed up the process, meaning minimal downtime.


Video Consultations

As mentioned above; video technology is now forefront and centre in the current climate. We know that nothing beats face-to-face meetings, however, if time is of the essence, or whilst we return to some sort of normal, sales teams can carry out consultations and quote presentations via video call.

Machines

There have also been technological enhancements within the coffee machine manufacturer market, meaning that you can safely get your delicious cup of coffee.

We have seen manufacturer Coffetek launch the ‘Distance Selection’ technology which enables you to complete your drink selection by holding your finger 2cm away from the touchpad. This machine can also take your crockery or keep cup, meaning no cross-contamination from one user to another.

Then there is the Carimali Touchless Solution, which entails scanning a QR code on the machine. This will then bring up your drink options and enable you to select your drink directly from your phone.

The majority of machines that we supply are fitted with touch screen technology so are easy to clean and keep sanitised between each drink delivery.

We are sure that these technologies will continue to develop, with more and more manufacturers launching similar options in the not too distant future.
