Moroccan Spiced Coffee Recipe
Many of us like to try new coffee drinks, whether that be the latest trend down at Costa or a speciality coffee from a different country. In honour of the World Cup, we are looking at what the coffee trends are in various countries participating. Here, we look at the Moroccan Spiced Coffee Recipe;
Ingredients;
To make 4 cups.
- 1/2 cup of whole coffee beans – I recommend our Blend 9.
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamon
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground clove
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 4 cups of water
- Cream and sugar (optional)
Method;
Grind the coffee beans and spices together to create a rough texture.
Heat the water to a boil and leave for a minute to cool slightly.
Pour about 1/2 of the water over the coffee and let it sit for 30 seconds.
Use a spoon to gently stir the mixture and then add the rest of the water. Place the lid on the French press and leave the plunger all the way up. Let brew for 3 minutes.
Press the plunger all the way down and pour the coffee into cups.
Serve the coffee black, or with sugar and cream as desired.
