On 28th July, 14 team members will be tackling a 50 mile walk from Burnley to Apperley Bridge in celebration of our 50th anniversary, which equates to an impressive 700 miles in total!
The walk will not only be a way to celebrate the 50th year but will also raise funds for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, based in Oxenhope.
The team will be making a pit stop half way in Skipton to re fuel and rest before completing the final stretch to Apperley Bridge. This will make for a very strenuous few days for all taking part and will be a challenge for even the most active of the group!
An online fundraising page has been set-up, at justgiving.com/fundraising/refreshmentsystemscharitywalk, with a £2,000 target.
All proceeds will go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Community Fundraiser Harriet Wood said “I think this is a fantastic way to celebrate such a great mile stone and the fact that they are giving something back to the community is wonderful.
This challenge won’t be easy but I think that’s what makes it worth doing, from everyone at Manorlands we want to say a very big thank you for your help and commitment to our local cause – it means a great deal to so many people in our care”.
