Our commitment
Refreshment Systems Limited wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:
- navigate the whole site using a keyboard alone;
- zoom to 200% without text being cut off or overlapping;
- use it with a screen reader;
- turn off animation, and have the site respect that;
- read it at the contrast levels WCAG asks for.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Where we fall short, this page says so.
How accessible this site is
We believe most of this website is accessible, with the exceptions listed under known issues below. That list is honest rather than flattering — a statement that claims full compliance is the one nobody believes.
What we have done
- A skip link to the main content, as the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, never removed — a 3px outline with an offset, so it is visible against dark and light backgrounds alike.
- Menu triggers built as buttons rather than links, carrying
aria-expanded, so opening a menu doesn’t navigate somewhere you didn’t ask to go. Esccloses any open menu, drawer or search panel.- All animation is disabled for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion, including the site’s smooth scrolling.
- Text sizes and spacing set in relative units, so browser zoom and text-only zoom both work.
- Status messages announced politely, rather than moving focus unexpectedly.
Known issues
We know about the following, and are working on them:
- Image alternative text. The site is still being populated with photography. Every image needs alt text written for its context before launch — decorative images marked as such, and informative ones described.
- Third-party content. Any embedded video, map or chat widget added later is outside our direct control and may not meet the same standard.
- [Anything an audit finds — list each one, with a date by which it will be fixed.]

Enforcement
